Battery Technologies and Markets

Incorporating ideas from a variety of disciplines, this course aims to equip students with the concepts and analytical skills necessary to assess the utility and viability of various battery technologies in the context of growing market demand for electrochemical energy storage. The course will integrate the fundamentals of electrochemical energy storage with the practical issues surrounding battery operation, design, and manufacturing, cost and market analysis, and policy considerations to provide a complete picture of the engineering and development of modern battery storage systems.

Project mission:

- Teach students from a variety of disciplines and programs about battery technologies and markets.
- Offer a program-based course in which students can apply their knowledge to solve and understand "real world" problems.

Required resources:

  1. Total project needs: $5,000
