BERC (Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative)

BERC is a student led initiative started in 2005 out of Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. BERC seeks to connect students, faculty, and members of the UC Berkeley community who are active in the energy, natural resources, and clean technology. The purpose of the organization is to foster a community, enhance collaboration, accelerate the transfer of ideas from lab to market, and take on industry challenges that demand multi-disciplinary approaches. Berkeley is home to massive knowledge, research, and resources in the energy and environmental sectors. BERC seeks to harness and apply these resources.

Project mission:

Berkeley has the capacity to lead the world in science, technology, business, and regulatory innovation in the energy sector, and BERC seeks to highlight and catalyze this leadership.

1. Inventory the people and initiatives at Berkeley in the energy, resource, and clean technology sectors (AccessBerkeley.com)
2. Connect these people and initiatives through events, communication channels, and collaborative projects.
3. Harness the massive knowledge base that exists at Berkeley to address key challenges in the energy and natural resource arenas.
