Will Coleman is a graduate of the Haas School of Business and currently finishing a masters in Berkeley’s Energy & Resources Group. Will has been working in energy and clean technology for over 5 years. Most recently Will worked for Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV) focusing on early stage investments in clean energy, and continues to work for Xseed Capital, MDV’s seed fund. Prior to MDV, Will worked for GE Energy in the Renewable Energy Leadership Program focusing on commercial wind strategies. Will also served as the legislative director from 2002-2004 for the Renewable Energy Action Project, a national energy coalition. In 2004 Will was invited to sit on the California Energy Commission’s Biofuels Working Groups to formulate strategies for reducing California’s dependence on petroleum. While at Haas, Will founded the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) and is currently working to build a new Center for Energy Innovation (CEI) to foster interdisciplinary approaches to our most pressing energy challenges. The group has received initial funding from the Chancellor’s office for Science & Technology, the Berkeley Itri Research Fellows Program, and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs. Will graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Social Studies from Harvard University in 1999.
