Big Ideas @ Berkeley is an online marketplace for promoting Cal student-led initiatives. On this site, you can post initiatives and seek support in the form of financial or in-kind contributions. Additionally, you can promote your initiative by posting a blog, photos, presentations and other items related to your project, creating a ChipIn, or sending messages to your friends and family. Initiative themes fall into categories such as Environment and Energy, Entrepreneurship and Global Poverty Reduction, and can consist of student groups, projects, courses, and contests.

Once an initiative is approved and posted, potential supporters can browse and select from the wide range of offerings via the public Big Ideas @ Berkeley online marketplace. Supporters can choose to support Big Ideas in many ways – by donating to a Big Ideas initiative, sponsoring a future Bears Breaking Boundaries contest, or making an in-kind donation.

Once you have contributed an initiative, you are required to fill out a progress report every 6 months providing status on your initiative for your supporters.
